Call to revive our degraded and damaged ecosystem.

#Generationrestoration #biodiversity #environment

Our ecosystem has been badly damaged and degraded, all over the world.

The degradation is created by increasing population, constantly expanding monetary development, and pollution by technology. The United Nation's International Strategy for Disaster Reduction characterizes environmental degradation as the lessening of the limit of the earth to meet social and environmental destinations needs. As much as it is not purely caused by humans, we make up for a large percentage. Approximately 60%-70% of the damage is caused by our activities and unsustainable use of the environment.

The degradation has seen to it massive effects which include, impacts on human health, loss of biodiversity, loss for the tourism industry and economic impact. All of this have a lasting impact on the youth and the future generations. Therefore, there is need for a collective action and everyone to get involved in the revival of the damaged ecosystems.

The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration starts in 2021. It is a global movement for everyone to get involved, starting with the governments, multinational companies to schools. The fruits of this inclusive fight positively and directly impacts the youth and the future generations in that it will lead to creation of sustainable jobs based on a restoration economy.

Let us all join hands and champion for the Education for Restoration initiative by UN, as education and a knowledgeable generation will turn our today's young generation into ecosystem ambassadors, saving the future of our planet.
