Fast Fashion: Its damaging effect on the environment.

SDG 6 SDG 12 SDG 13

Fast fashion refers to cheaply produced and priced garments duplicating the latest high end fashion that get pumped quickly through stores to maximise on current trends,
Fast fashion comprises of 10% of total global carbon emissions, it dries up water sources and pollutes rivers .With many brands using synthetic fibres like polyester, nylon and acrylic which are non biodegradable.
I am part of the consumers of fast fashion and can attest to the satisfaction of this industry are in line with those I get from fast food. However the detrimental effects my body gets from fast food are in greater magnitude greatly felt by the environment which is the major consumer of fast fashion in the long run.
Sustainable fashion is the only feasible solution .
