Building Resilient Communities.

#sustainability #Africa #Wildlife #Conservation
SDG 2 SDG 4 SDG 8

The concept of sustainable development is based on three main elements: uniform economic growth, protection and preservation of the environment, and respect and improvement of social and human rights. This holistic approach will see to it that we build more resilient communities that can withstand tests of time and that can co-exist in ways that maintain the natural environment, economic well-being, and an equal opportunity for all people to benefit from a better quality of life now and in the future.

The streams of incoming for the communities have been grossly affected as they heavily depended on tourism which was completely shutdown when the pandemic hit. We need to tackle this challenges, hunger, education, poverty and wildlife conservation as a package because either cannot succeed without solving the other.

AWF is working in a purposeful way right now to ensure that the economic challenges stemming from lost revenue streams during the Covid-19 pandemic do not result in more increased human-wildlife conflict.

As Africa, we need to build an environment where nature co-exists with sustainable development.
