The future of Weather Applications.

WMO, Meteorological community at large, Public and private sectors should collectively work towards development of good apps for global, regional and local apps for consumers.

Such applications, should be enhanced to include parameters beyond weather, to wholesomely become solution oriented in terms of the data they disseminate e.g. inbuilt drought or flood warning mechanisms, crop yield failure predictions, effects on grasslands at local levels among other features.

If well designed and made user/target friendly, the future of weather applications is too huge to exploit as the end users particularly in developing countries who depend heavily on Agriculture but are faced heavily with weather variabilities will really benefit from such.

By such, WMO should continue encouraging app developers to come up with simple, user friendly but data comprehensive apps for the end users.
