'Weather forecast has no value if it doesn't reach the intended audience'-Elena Malaenkova (WMO Deputy Secretary)

How is acquisition attained? How do we know what's coming before it already happens? How do we assess the magnitude and the impact of the forth-coming weather?
These are just but a few questions we ask ourselves.

Luckily enough for us technology updates and software input into our smartphones may have the answer to this, be it apps and websites that offer first hand & reliable weather data.
This intel gives us a hunch preventing people from being caught off-guard and hence prior preparation.

The impacts this has brought forward are numerous but just to mention a few;
Socially, people are able to plan their day's activities according to the predicted weather such as gatherings and celebrations.
Economically, people like farmers know when to expect rains hence influence their sowing and harvesting annual calendar which furthermore enables them to earn a revenue and sustain themselves and their nations for those who do cash-crop farming.

It is thus very important to have these type of means in developing countries in order to uplift them and develop them.
For example Kenya, Somalia region had greatly been affected by floods and as a result hundreds of thousands of people were displaced.
Had they gotten the warning prior to this many of them would have retreated to secure regions and as a result many were left homeless.

I believe we can do more to save ourselves from the oncoming dangers of such calamities by use of these friendly apps individually and be able to secure our communities.
