Climate Justice - Restoration Agenda in Africa.

#climateaction #UN #greenwar #biodiversity #africa

Africa will be struck severely by the impacts of climate change as compared to other continents. It is particularly vulnerable due to its limited adaptive capacity and widespread poverty which in the long run threatens the economic growth.

We need to invest more in people as they are the resources to push the restoration agenda. Urge governments to put policies in place that support climate action and deliver through leaders so that they may push for the change agenda from the top.

Like many policymakers around the world, Kenyan officials recognize that mainstreaming adaptation into their development plans and policies across all sectors can improve the resilience of development outcomes. The Kenya government is now supporting local efforts to mainstream adaptation into County Integrated Development Plans (CIPDs) by establishing County Climate Change Funds (CCCFs). These innovative institutions provide the financial and technical assistance that county officials need to propose, prioritize and implement climate resilience actions.

The weapons for restoration agenda in Africa are knowledge, expertise and access to data. Integrating all this and rallying political good will and advocacy will enable us achieve climate justice in the continent and globally.
