RECLAIMING THE GREEN GLORY

#Reclaimingland #TreeplantingDrives #EcoInfrastucture
SDG 11 SDG 13 SDG 17

In the ongoing climate action mitigation the most itching and long-term problem has been land degradation.

in Kenya, the government has taken the stride into restoring up to to an estimate of 5.1 million hectares of land.
This will take place by the induction of massive tree planting drives by the government. This process is underway since the talks with the National Treasury to set up a tree growing fund with a target to put 2 Billion tree seedlings in the ground by 2022.

The government has also instructed every ministry to include a climate change unit that will ensure every project done has positive impact on the environment e.g. infrastructure.

- Trees are a great antidote to land degradation
- Trees reduce soil erosion
- Trees help in reducing carbon levels
- Trees help in balancing biodiversity
- Trees are a source of food and medicine
