There is no vaccine for the planet!

#climatecrisis #nature #Africa

According to WMO "State of the global climate 2020 report", damage on the planet keeps worsening.
Concentrations of the major greenhouse gases has gone up, global mean temperature in 2020 is on course to be one of
the three warmest on record, increased sea level, the Greenland ice sheet continued to lose mass and heavy rain and extensive flooding occurred over large parts of Africa and Asia in 2020. This is to name but a few.

In Africa to be precise East Africa, we experienced floods in Rwanda, Kenya, Somalia, Burundi, Ethiopia, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti and Tanzania, affecting at least 700,000 people. They began when excessive rains began falling in March, leading to massive flooding and landslides.

Human activities is the root cause of a large percentage of the climate and changes in the ecosystem. The shift in the climate and weather events have triggered significant population movements and have severely
affected the vulnerable communities and even the marginalized in the developed countries. Our actions are catching up and nature is striking back with fury.

As stated by Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, we need to make peace with the nature and this must be the most top priority for everyone , everywhere in the planet. It is the defining task of the 21st century. Since our activities led us here then our actions can help reverse the state of the climate and the planet as a whole.
