Modern day slavery

#SLAVERY #FORCEDLABOUR
SDG 10 SDG 17

Many would describe modern day slavery as the forced labour of individuals in different industries. This however it has far more aspects to it with modern slavery ranging from forced labour to trafficking.

Current modern slavery is the serious double-dealing of others for individual or business gain. Current bondage is surrounding us, yet all the same frequently barely hidden. Individuals can become ensnared making our garments, serving our food, picking our harvests, working in industrial facilities, or working in houses as cooks, cleaners or babysitters.

From an external perspective, it can resemble a typical work. However, individuals are being controlled – they can confront brutality or dangers, be constrained into unpreventable obligation, or have had their identification removed and are being undermined with extradition. Many have fallen into this severe snare essentially on the grounds that they were attempting to get away from poverty, war or instability, work on their lives and backing their families.

Although we have come a long way in creation of jobs and curbing slavery it is still rampant and gaining new forms of exploitation.
