A Green Future For Africa

SDG 9 SDG 13

Nations globally are aiming towards a green economy. Green economy brings more and equal opportunities compared to a brown economy. A green economy provides sustainable solutions to numerous social issues like poverty and climate change which is rampant in Africa. With ecosystems being destroyed together with sources of income and food, increasing poverty levels lead to a deteriorating economy.
Reduction of risks related to climate change can stabilize economy through the transformation of eight key sectors. These sectors are: energy, agriculture, forestry, fishing, transport, manufacturing, recycling and building.
By supporting population in Africa especially through capacity building can help towards the road to green economy. The youth for example, can be supported on setting up recycling plants hence reducing unemployment at the same time conserving environment.
