The agenda in line with the post-COVID recovery seeks to focus on environmentally sustainable and friendly approaches to foster and rebuild the resilience of ecological systems both for nature and climate resilience, thus sustainable development. Whereas the need to rebuild from the hard-hit impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic is of prior focus to build resilience, key to note is the relevance and acknowledgement of regional perspectives, roles and contributions towards instilling and implementation of the strategies as identified by the 2030 agenda.

Implementation of strategies for a green recovery are an excellent opportunity to build back. However, the global perspectives of response have not yielded far much the desired results regarding implementation. However, establishment of the Regionally based collaboration platforms and issues-based coalitions in the UN systems have aided bring in and integrate regional perspectives and responses in line with sustainable development from the COVID-19 pandemic streak. Regional perspectives give a much greater and clearer account and feasibility of implementation of the biodiversity targets as identified by the 2030 agenda. Additionally, regional perspectives in response to the pandemic have aided set-up a bottom-up approach, adaptive and diverse innovative techniques towards building ecological and climate resilience.
