Important issues that we don't talk about - Menstrual Hygiene

SDG 1 SDG 3 SDG 4 SDG 5

Globally, the stigma of menstruation is perpetrated by cultural taboos, discrimination, lack of education, silence and period poverty whereby they are unable to access/afford feminine hygiene products. Women's sanitation and hygiene is overlooked due to these specific reasons.
Menstruation is a normal process of the body that women go through every month. However, as normal as it is, women still face challenges for menstrual health due to no access to water and sanitary products. Girls also have to miss schools due to their periods which is not a fair call.
This shows us that menstrual hygiene is part of the basic needs for a woman and no woman or girl deserve to miss school, work, put their own health at stake for something as normal as menstruation.
Stigma or taboo around menstruation needs to be destroyed in order to give more attention to menstrual hygiene.
