Heatwaves forces closure of schools

#Heatwaves and Education#
SDG 4 SDG 13

The speaker, Furron Cousins introduces the negative impacts of climate change and this time he focuses on education sector.
He alludes that heatwaves brings premature closure of schools no sooner than they open their term dates. This is attributed to higher that normal temperatures. The situation sounds worse in United States of America in states like Baltimore, Massachusetts and New York. The schools in these areas experiences a skyrocketing daytime temperature to 90 degrees Celsius. This temperature cannot be controlled by the AC systems in the classrooms. The reality is, during the time of classroom constructions, they were never fitted with these AC systems simply because no one could ever think of this current happening. Climate was very favorable by then.
To make matters worse, climate change cannot allow our children to attend class a full day. This is alarming!!
How about least developed countries in Africa?? Surely it is time to take action for our sustainable future education.

Climate change impacts is already shutting down the education system
